Big questions. Brave voices. Shared power.

Teach Me Antiracism: Democracy helps kids understand how democracy really works, and how to practice it now. Through animated stories, original music and real history, viewers learn that democracy is more than a vote. It's sharing power, protecting rights, asking hard questions and showing up for each other.

Made for families, classrooms, and communities raising thoughtful, curious, and engaged kids.

Brandee Blocker Anderson

Made by a teacher, a law professor and a mom

This series comes from Brandee Blocker Anderson: a former Philadelphia classroom teacher, a law professor who teaches how rules get written and who they leave out, the author of the Teach Me Antiracism books, and a mother. Every word, value and question in it comes from her education and her lived experience.

"AI helped me bring it to life. It didn't decide what it says."

Human-made. AI-assisted. Here's the difference.

We teach kids to ask who made something, how, and why. So we'll go first. This series is led by one educator and built with the help of AI tools.

What comes from Brandee

  • The original Teach Me Antiracism: Democracy book and every poem in it
  • The 26 words, the value behind each one and the big question it asks
  • The characters, the neighborhood and where every story goes
  • Which history gets told, and how to tell it truthfully
  • The curriculum, standards alignment and classroom safeguards
  • Every final call. She reviews every image, clip and cut, and sends back what isn't right.

What AI tools help with

  • Drafting scripts and lyrics from her outlines, which she rewrites and approves
  • Turning her direction into artwork and animation
  • Giving the characters voices
  • Producing music and sound
  • Doing in weeks what used to take a studio, a network and millions of dollars

Why use AI at all? Because democracy includes who gets to make the media.

For generations, a small number of studios and networks decided which stories kids got to see. A teacher with a curriculum, a law professor with a lesson, a Black mother with a story to tell: they had to wait for someone with a budget to say yes. Most never heard it.

New tools are changing who gets to create. This series exists because one educator didn't have to wait for permission. That's shared power, the very thing these episodes teach. The tools helped build it. The ideas, the values and the care are human.
